IIRC it's a Jaguar unit, but it could be one of the last of the BMW units that Ford had to take under sale terms of LR to Ford by BMW, but I pretty sure it's the Jaguar unit. When RRS was launched LR was owned by Ford, so were Jaguar, Aston Martin and Volvo so there are quite a few common bits between marques.
Regarding the 2.7V6 although a Ford/PSA design it isn't the same engine as is used in the upmarket Peugeots and Citroens or even in any Jaguar - LR re-engineered the lubrication and air intake to suit the offroad abilities of the D3 and RRS and removed one of the two turbos that Jaguar and PSA cars with the 2.7 engine have 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
