2011my Embargo Lifted Today

All,

The embargo covering 2011my is lifted today for Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport. Your local dealers will now be able to share the 2011my information with you, however a summary is as follows:

Range Rover Sport

3.6 TDV8 withdrawn from production.
3.0 TDV6 V-Max increased to 124mph.
Badges changed to silver/green as opposed to gold/green.
DPF fitted as standard to all TDV6 vehicles to meet Euro 5 regulations.
New colours being introduced including Siberian Silver.
Autobiography being made available in both 3.0 TDV6 and 5.0 Supercharged.
Introduction of HSE Lux model.
Reshaped rear headrests to meet safety requirements.
Optional bodykit available as a factory order on all models.
Hill Start and Gradient Acceleration Control available.

Discovery 4

Badges changed to silver/green as opposed to gold/green.
DPF fitted as standard meet Euro 5 regulations.
New colours being introduced including Siberian Silver.
Reshaped rear headrests to meet safety requirements.
Hill Start and Gradient Acceleration Control available.
2.7 TDV6 engine with manual gearbox discontinued and replaced with a 210bhp 3.0 with automatic for Commercial.
3.0 210bhp being badged as TDV6 and 3.0 245bhp being badged as SDV6.
Electric leather seats with arm rests (non-memory) as an option on GS models.

The above information is purely a summary, and as mentioned your dealer will be able to discuss it in more detail with you. I will hopefully post more information when I return from the 3 Peaks Challenge next Tuesday.

It is fair to say that before the 'Reassurance Program' was rolled out, that we did have a few DPF issues. That said, the 11my DPF software is programmed in a diffrent way to pre-11my, in so much that the regeneration and limp perameters have been changed. This we are told makes owning/driving a DPF equipped RRS/D4 no different to a non-equipped. Obviously time will tell as we have no experience of the new model, however LR appreciates that the first set of software did limit it slightly.

With regard to the TDV8...... there is no getting away from the sound or the mid-range torque, however on paper (and I stress 'on paper') the 3.0 is so close in terms of performance that the MPG and Co2, and most improtantly demand (very few people opting for 10my TDV8, and if so usually Autobiography), that it doesn't justify it as a viable option with the emissions targets set.

But, the good news is that I have one of the last TDV8's coming off the production line next week if anyone wants it. TDV8 Autobiography in Santorini Black with Monacco Leather and a few bits.

Sadly not Si. We are assuming that it will be the same as the Autobiography, but without the grilles and bigger wheels. It's a good solution for someone who wants a cheaper package as you could spec an SE and then upgrade to 20" wheels.

Based on my discussions with Land Rover Australia, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it matches this. I was told it was now being offered as an optional body kit here in Australia so I don't reckon it's going out on too much of a limb to think it could be the change in all markets.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Saw several transporter loads of those "facelifted" RRS's heading toward Southhampton docks when I drove down the A34 this afternoon - it must be a "standard" model for some right hand drive market. Also saw several RRS painted in what looked like Fuji White RRS with this facelift on the transporters - looks good. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Such a shame the TDV8 is going, but on the upside I'm glad I have mine. I'm still surprised how many people give the car a second look, I think the A/B front end with the grill and spoiler bit sets it apart. Still loving the car sooo much, love that lovely sound and the torque. Looking forward to giving the beastie a run to Holland for the weekend in a couple of weeks. Just love the car still, the novelty hasn't worn off.

What's this hill start thingy?

Dont worry Tim Thumbs Up from what I know LR may have a suprise in store for the RRS sometime soon with regards to a V8 diesel engine Wink

Can't say too much more for now but watch out early next year for some exciting news Very Happy "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.

I saw a white supercharged one of these in the car park opposite the Stokehouse in St Kilda on Monday... It looked ok. There was another none body kit white new RRS there too as well as a white FFRR...

If you want to see the body kit on a new HSE, Tom Hartley has a lovely white one for sale.
