My old insurance ran out early Sept, but after some haggling renewed again with Landrover Insurance, even paid 2 weeks early, insurance cover note came through all hunky dory, so I thought.

ASKMID are a waste of time. they are only as good as what the insurance companies tell you. According to them the last time I looked I was still driving an xc90!! The car I traded in for the RRS over a year ago!! That and they said my Mums car wasn't insured even though she had the certificate in the house!! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Just because there is no insurance policy on the car, doesn't mean the driver is not insured to drive the car. It might be somebody driving on 3rd party only cover, or a trader insured to drive any vehicle. The vehicle may not be specified on any policy so it will come up as uninsured but the driver may be perfectly legal ? |

This is correct, the car being driven must have it's own insurance policy, a third party (not already a named driver on the vehicles policy) can then drive it third party f&theft as long as the vehicle and their own policy allows them to do this. A lot of policies now do not permit unamed drivers to drive it and your own policies may now also state you cannot drive other insured cars third party f&theft. 2005 (55) RRS 4.2 V8 S/C Buckingham Blue All bulbs changed for LED's Graphite Powder Coated 20" RRS S/C Alloys Side Steps Tints http://rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic1760-45.html |
