EGR valves - to clean, replace or blank?

Mine going in tomorrow and egr valves deemed to be the culprit - reading around it appears blanking would be the no brainer? No mot issues, no further egr problems and reports of improved performance and economy?

Is this right? Bow down Best Wishes

Gary

Just noticed yours is a 2007 - you might find you get a warning light if you go down the blanking route but others will advise soon Thumbs Up Cheers Paul

You currently cannot blank an 07 onwards model Big Cry without the engine management light coming on.

Mine's a 56 plate with 30,000 miles on the clock.
Had them blanked them off today (£160) - car drives better than it has ever done performance wise and no issues with any warning lights - fingers crossed that long may it continue! Best Wishes

Hi,

where did you get this done, as wanting to do mine, but as it is a 07 spec engine it will show the warning light.

Hi mate, had it done by my mate/mechanic who has looked after all my cars when they fall out of warranty. The blanking kit is widely available though and should be easy enough to arrange. Only issue is they have to sign a disclaimer regarding any future claims - not something I am going to lose any sleep over. Best Wishes

Gary
