2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Looking for perfection

I bought my 08HSE from those who we dare not mention in Arpil. Since then I've had a few little issues that means my vehicle is constantly at the dealers and I seem to be going through all of the courtesy cars.
It was vibrating the day I drove it home and I put it down to tracking or ballancing and thought nothing of it. I had the car back today after goodness knows how many attempts to correct it and it's still vibrating. Every time I pick the car up they say it's rectified. I'm beginning to think I'm going mad?
I had the rear diff replaced a few months ago and my front brake pads and disks as they were warped.
My bluetooth has never worked and so they've played with the connections since day 1 and today it finally works properly.... Thumbs Up
The clip on the centre fridge wasn't working and was replaced and the boot kept sticking half way so the dash was warning tailgate open.....and you coun't open or fully close it. Not fun when you're packing to come home from holiday with 3 kids in Europe!
The suspension sags near side back passenger and this still isn't fixed. My dealer tells me that I'm just looking for perfection......I bought a used Range Rover, what exactly did I expect!!!
So I told the aftersales manager to use petrol when they wash it next time I bring it in for something picky and I'll set fire to it before it goes anywhere!!!
I just thought I'd share that with you all, sorry to sound miserable. Big Cry
I love my sport and am reluctant to get rid of it, I just don't see how he can say that to me after having all those niggles since I bought it for over £30k?

Presumably being an 08 your car is still under warranty. Take it to another dealer and name and shame the dealer who says you are looking for perfection.

I am beginning to think that the dealer network is letting the brand down. When (if I keep it) my RRS is out of warranty,it will be going to a good independent although my main dealer has been good to me so far but my servicing is free and when it's not I don't watt to pay LR labour rates! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

How long ago did you buy it, i think a word with your local trading standards is in order under the subject of "fit for purpose" name and shame the dealer and tell him that you have posted on here and then take it somewhere else.

I bought it in April this year and thinking of extending the warranty becase I'm convinced it's going to carry on.
I didn't realise I could take it to an other dealer, I thought I had to return it to the same dudes that I bought it from in fear that a different garage will charge me through the roof.
Seriously though I would rather have my Q7 back that was a total tyre eating beast or wish I had kept my 10 plate A5 in March and let the other half ship the kids in his car lol.
Cheers guys

Agree try another dealer, not sure where you are exactly but might help to see if any can be recommended by the forum. It would sound from your frustrations that it might be worth travelling a little further if none others close to your location as a dealer who knows his stuff will have sorted and save you a whole lot of time and agro in the long run

Have known a few garages to completely ignore ladies, seem to think that all they might know is the colour and make the rest up......... sorry not my view but one that is out there.

Several occassions have had to go and translate for the wife, though she is pretty good on her colours Smile

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Guys, yesterday I was coming home from a shop with my mother (no jokes pls) and the dash started screaming at me and said SLOW DOWN OR SUSPENSION WILL DROP. So I pulled over, fiddled with the height adjustment and it cleared. When I got home (2miles) I phoned the SS oh I mean dealers and they told me to phone the recovery ppl.
8am today mr recovery turns up and says that there was some sort of problem with eyes or I's what ever that is. Basically it needed to be returned carefully to the dealers and I should be given a courtesy car from Enterprise.
He recommended that I drive carefully and if the problem reoccurred then I was to pull over, phone them and they would recover me.
I was surprised they didn't just throw it on the back of a lorry anyway????

Long story short, enterprise are charging me £50 deposit for a f***ing freelander later on today. If that's not bad enough - I was supposed to using my black sport for my mates wedding.....tomorrow. I offered the freelander instead and he nearly had a heart attack Big Cry
Couldn't be helped but I phoned the dealer in tears explainig the situation and they said "well we don't have any available vehicles for you".

So I'm currently waiting for my freelander to arrive........................ Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

I'm thinking of making my tag the list of problems I've had with it since I bought it in April but there probably wouldnt be enough room. Why the hell do I still love the damn car???? Razz

'SLOW DOWN OR SUSPENSION WILL DROP.' That's not a problem. Had you put your RRS in offroad height? This message will appear when the car is in offroad height and you exceed 30mph - it's normal. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

List all your RRS problems here and we'll tell you what the solution is - then take it to another dealer and explain the problems and that this forum has advised you the repairs needed. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

But I'm confused as the recovery guy came out today and according to him there is some kind of problem with the suspension.
I've also had something about extended mode with it too now and again. I've read it's when there's something too close to the car but this has happened out of the blue.

I hope they've not taken the car in after I accidentally hiked it to off road mode?? Surely not - the mechanic spotted something lmao.

I'll let you know the outcome anyhoo.

Some of my problems include:
car feels like it's vibrating, worse on motorway.
new diff
boot gets stuck half open and closed
suspension sag
bluetooth never worked until last week
steering wheel out of alignment and so it pulls to the left
warped brakes
new wheel bearing
new clip on fridge as it wouldn't close properly
Suspension warning yesterday
Bonnet opened on it's own whilst doing something miles an hour on German autobahn in bad weather last month.

Small issues maybe but I bought it late April this year and the car was registered in 08

The bonnet has to be slammed shut and then give it a pull at both sides to check it is shut.
This has happened to a few of us before. Caused by not latching closed properly combined with bonnet being light and made of aluminium. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Hubby currently owns a girly red 07 Audi S3 but it's awesome!!
