United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey
LR Marketing

I had a call a couple of days from LR, acknowledging my recent interest in the RRS and wanted to pass my details on to the local dealer. I corrected him and said I wasn't, as I have already owned a RRS and now own a new D3, so it would be at least a year before I even considered changing again. I continued to tell him the only thing that would make me change at the moment is if they put the TDV8 in the D3 and I then told him not to bother doing anything and don't bother forwarding my details to the dealer as I'm in regular contact with them anyway.

Then in today's post was a set of RRS brochures and a letter thanking me for my request for a test drive Shocked and stating the dealer than will be contacting me shortly. On top of that the brochures are a year old and make no mention to the TDV8. The price list is Jan 06 too.

What a waste of money this is for them sending out this lot. Maybe they just have a load of old brochures they want to get rid off. I don't even know why they think I was showing any interest anyway. I haven't even updated my email newsletter profile on their website for a long time.

In what is now 19 months of new LR ownership (RRS, then D3) I haven't ever receive a copy of the LR OneLife magazine (see http://rovering.squarespace.com/journal/20...year.html)
or been contacted by LR or the dealer regarding any customer feedback or questionnaire. Maybe they should concentrate a little more on the existing customers who have spend many tens of thousands of pounds on their products.

If LR want to send me stuff, then a pen, keyring or other small branded gift would be much better and cheaper for them than some old brochures. Or an invite to a drinks evening or other event where they can keep my interest in their products. Little touches like that would keep me buying LR, even though that sounds very shallow. Matt

Agreed.

I was forever being offered the chance to take a test drive in the "new" RRS even when I was still an owner. I don't know how their customer databases are populated and where from but it seems there's no consistency. It all ends up, as Matt said, as a waste of money & time and in my opinion presents LR in quite a negative light.

Also, even tho' an existing owner I tried the old "register on-line in the hope of getting a free off road day"......and it worked!

Surely if they are going to remove it as a freebie to ACTUAL owners, they would set up some kind of failsafe to stop us all doing it!
