Range rover 2.7 v6 problem

Hi Everybody,

I have encountered a problem with a Range Rover sport 2.7 V6 diesel!
Basically when cruising on the highway (even at lower speeds in town) say at 60 mph, the car will start rocking back and forth as if you are accelerating and decelerating constantly, as if you are pressing and releasing the accelerating pedal!!
The engine rpm goes say from 2500 - 2700 - 2500 - 2700 up and down all the time!
If you accelerate hard then you get the feeling that you are pressing the acc. pedal full and then half full - then full etc and also you feel a small vibration coming from the transmission.
I have checked the TPS sensor reading while on cruising and the reading is steady.
There is no engine fault codes or transmission fault codes.
I am thinking to replace the transmission oil and oil filter.
Has anyone come accross this sort of problem??????

Thanks in advance
Mike
