Would of thouht a decent set of tyres All terrain type would negate the need for chains. Last years snow did not stop mine and that included steep hills, and some off roading. The right tyres will will see your RRS through virtually anything. Many members have 2 sets one for winter one for summer, plenty of sets on e-bay.

Its more to do with the necessity to keep the gendarmarie happy when heading up the mountain in France...

Roof rails can be fitted easily yourself - the kit comes with the cross bars. Check out ebay for parts. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Having purchased a set of bars off EBay, I returned home to find the ****** has only sold me the cross-bars!

I had to call LRCC to purchase 4 new end pieces for the rails as the ones that were delivered were damaged in transit....
