Bluetooth ......again

I know this topic has been covered in great detail but I shall raise it again anyway. I have a 56 RRS HSE but it doesn't have bluetooth. I have looked around endlessly and although Parrot have got great reviews and recommendations from this forum and elsewhere most of them look like a poor aftermarket fit.

As the RRS doesn't have any dash space there aren't many ways to make it look naturally fitted. Has any one got a way around this?? Any pics will be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation. Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Both Sony Ericson and Parrot do battery powered units that can be fitted to the sun visor, but they are both very basic and have to be taken out of the car for recharging, unfortunately they cannot be hidden away as the contol buttons are on the units. Have you thought about buying a more recent car............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I just installed the factory bluetooth kit and it works perfectly with my LR phone...

Ebay had a kit for a couple of hundred quid and you can keep your phone in your pocket or use some other fixing....

Hope this helps.

Tim I tried the visor Bluetooth contraption but it just doesn't do the job.....and thanks for your suggestion re a newer car...very helpful.... Wink

Alex I would be very interested in the factory fit but it seems that I need the wiring kit plus the Bluetooth module. Is that correct? How did you get it installed? On fleabay I can only find the wiring kit. Any details you can give me will be much appreciated. Thumbs Up

Flydive looks quite neat. Will try to get my hands on factory kit failing which will look at parrot again. BTW nice avatar. Is that a 727?

Hi there..

I did the fitting myself. Took a couple of hours if that.... You will indeed need the Kit and bluetooth module....

This one in the States could be a lot cheaper than the UK ebay one (£200+)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-Genuine...ioQ5fVideo

I am still searching for the module at the moment, give me a couple of days!! You must get the right one for the kit and not the factory fitted one which will not work with the kit....

Hope this helps...... You are not in a rush are you?

Alex

Personally if I had a car without bluetooth I would not install the factory one, way too limited functions. The only advantages of the factory one are the keyboard and that you do not have an external module to install.

Yes much clearer on the big pic. Is that your beast? Very sleek. Thumbs Up What is it's range?

Alex, thanks for the link. I will keep an eye on it to see how much it sells for. No, I am not in a hurry so if you find something that works I am all ears. Cheers. Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
