Service Required message - can it be reset without a dealer?

My 2006 is due for an interim service to change the oil etc. The stealer here in CA wants about $140 but I can get the oil changed much cheaper but of course the Service required message stays on.

Can the message be removed or reset without stealer intervention? (i could do it in my 1998 Jeep Very Happy )

Seemingly it can be reset via the dash controls on some vehicles, not on my 2006 RRS SC.

I bought a simple reset tool from BlackBoxSolutions for roughly 100 sheets ($)

Link is below under "Blackbox Basic Bits", model is BCSRT (Service Reset Tool) :-
