WHICH TYRES?

I think I've read every thread on here and it's sister sites but am still totally confused. Whilst I'm aware most decisions are personal choice (favourite brand etc) it really isn't helping me. I've read so many varying reviews, anything from 'great wear & tear' to 'worst tyre ever'!

I currently have budget tyres with problems (285/35/22) so I'm looking to buy four new ones. I only do about 12K miles per year and probably half of those are towing a caravan.

Any help would be appreciated even if it is to eliminate them from my search.

I like the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season tyres that I have fitted to my RRS.

Good grip in all conditions, good wear (I have done 23,000 on them and they still have another 8000 to 10000 left in them) and marked for Mud + Snow.

That said I'm sure someone will be along shortly and say that they are rubbish! Rolling with laughter

If you don't want a budget tyre then ask yourself what brands you have had in the past and see if that brand does your size

Your only get the same answers as any other thread, I had this, I had that etc

it really is up to you

If I was doing just tarmac use with the occasional track then I'd go with the Verde All Season. Covers you for summer and winter road use and has enough off road ability for the odd greasy track e.g. towing in and out of a field. Is also the preferred tyre on new RRS/FFRR on sale these days. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've also got Pirelli's but mine are the Scorpion Zero's,,I would NEVER fit budgets to a 4x4,,to be honest I would never fit budgets to anything,,they are cheap for a reason.

Yes. Tyres are the only thing that maintains contact between the road and your 2.75 tonne vehicle. I never skimp on tyres and only ever fit well known, proven, brands. Thumbs Up

X5pea is selling a set of wheels fully fitted with Pirelli Scorpions.

He has been trying to sell them for a while now and is open to all offers. Drop him a PM and offer £50 per corner?
