United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Bonatti Grey

Had this problem on a X5 it was the reostat in the heater which was causing the heater fan to run intermittantly even with the ignition off. When temp dropped heater fan would come on. bought new one off ebay £30 cured problem. It was a pain as my X5 had a lpg tank in sparewheel well ontop of the battery.

hi m8 i had the same problem with the battery took me 3 weeks of testing to find it was the upper tailgate switch take the rubber seal off the switch if the switch is corroded inside that is your problem Thumbs Up

Yesterday it happened again - miles from anywhere in a field in the dark.... This time the LR Assist chap (amazing service by the way, he was with me in 1 hour) told me it was because I had left the car unlocked for an hour or two. It drains the battery as the car stays 'live'. Telling all incase anyone didnt know. Lesson learned - until I forget again......

AND ALSO DONT LEAVE YOUR KEY IN THE IGNITION IT ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY

Once again this forum has proved brilliant.
Away for 9 days holiday came back to a flat battery
Charged it
Ran it for about 50 miles a day for 3 days
Next morning blat fattery
Consult forum
10 minutes later threw a soaking wet corroded switch as far as it would go.
Brilliant info on here, but I paid £40,000 for my dream car a year ago and didn't expect to see so many simple stupid problems that I and other forum members experience!! Rant over Smile Now - Black 2008 3.6 TDV8 RRS orgasmic

Where is the rear tailgate switch referred tohereabouts? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
