United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black
Bonnet will not open (Hood)

Hello,

My 2006 Range Rover Sports Bonnet (Hood) will not open.
There was no problem with it the last time I used it several weeks ago.

The pull inside is seems a bit soft, I have removed the panel and had a look at it does not seem broken at all.

I think the catch in the bonnet must have come loose.

Is there a way to open the bonnet now that i cannot use the pull from inside the vehicle?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Sorted........... and it only took 10 minutes

The cable was NOT damaged or broken.
It is in 3 section...
From inside the vehicle pull, up to the left wing behind the headlight.

Then up to the first catch of the bonnet on the left.

Then there is a rod from one latch to the other.

The first cable had come undone under the bonnet (hood), behind the left wing.
It is secured in a plastic casing that had come open.

I would suggest that next time you open your bonnet make sure the casing is secured clipped in place.

Once the front grille was removed it took 30 secs on open the bonnet
