This morning I tried to upgrade iTunes to version 9 so I could install the version4 upgrade for my iPhone............ I now have V9 iTunes and also continuous warning windows advising me that I am missing file YSFileshim.dll and that dotmacsyncclient.exe cannot run as a result.
No probs, tap it into Google thinks I............................... but all I seem to get there are websites offering registry cleaners and sorters and I already have Registry Mechanic and that doesn't want to know about fixing it. So were to go from here? I don't seem to be able to upgrade my iPhone to V4 software as a result.
Does anybody know where I can find this DLL without having to go trough numerous registry cleaning programmes that all tell me that I have a million defects in my laptop and that I need to subscribe to that systems to fix all these imaginary problems?. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have you tried uninstalling itunes altogether and then doing a clean install?

yeah uninstall itunes and do a fresh install, u might wanna copy the itunes music folder first so that you don't loose your music , tv shows, movies etc

Disable any antivirus you have running and uninstall iTunes and then do clean install , iTunes on the clean install will find your music, video ect so no worries here, also if you have lost your 3GS data capability after updating to OS4 and you are on O2 let me know you need to re insert the APN details

In the process of downloading the upgrade right now Leeds - the uninstall/re-install worked fine and as you say all my audiobooks (280 of them......) music etc is all fine too as I backed up everything to iTunes this morning. The new software has downloaded and installed OK, now it's restoring the the data from the back-up. BTW Leeds, the APN in my iphone started idata.O2......... not what you mention in another post 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim turn your iphone wifi off if connected to your home router and see if you can get onto safari or any other 3GS data services, if not try the detail in the other post it works fine on mine.

3G out here ........................... Leeds I live out in the sticks, we have a copper wire to the phone exchange for our internet connections! Anyway did what you suggested and on GPRS was able to post this with the wifi in the iPhone turned off so all seems fine - everything else works OK too and I have my apps and files back, thanks for the help. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
