Looking at the Logic7, it has a different sub, and an extra 2 speakers in the roof (and one in the middle of the dash?). With all of the associated amplification and speakers (14 speakers, 12 channel amp), as well as the head unit, it might be simpler (and cheaper) just to swap the car out for one that already had Logic7 installed.
My main dealer told me that it couldn't be done.

Bob.

Wanted Logic 7 Amp/speakers

Thanks Bob, appreciate the input!
From what I know, which isn't much as yet!, the head unit is the same between Harman Kardon Hi-Ice as fitted to my HSE, and the Logic7 Head unit. I think the base head unit is different and doesn't use the MOST bus system, so that would be an expensive exercise. With the exception of the roof-mounted mid range speakers all the grilles are in place to accept the additional Logic7 units, so apart from a bit of rewiring it should be a straightforward swap - famous last words! I'll be stripping out the doors to whack in a couple of layers of bitumen-based sound damping anyway, so an ideal opportunity for a speaker upgrade.

Thanks Skywalker for the ebay link!

All the best from the soggy south west........

Keep us updated, I'll be very interested to see how you get on. I know the subwoofer on the Logic7 is active, but on the "normal" unit it's passive. I don't know if it's actually the same drive unit.
I must say though, the Logic7 system is truly awesome........the best sounding car system I've heard!

Bob.

To be honest, I didnt find significant improvements between a TDV8 Logic7 system I heard with a regular HK in my HSE. You'd be better spending the dosh on speaker or sound upgrades... I'm not sure the expense, rewiring and all your good work will bring the results you want. Unless you're really keen on watching movies in the car... thats the only time (I've been told) when the logic 7 really shines... Also, If the head unit doesn't have the Logic7 option, would a simple amp upgrade also upgrade the headunit to display logic7 options???

I have the logic 7 already but a couple of the speakers are crackling so may be blown

Id rather not replace the whole amp/wiring, but just change the speakers for better, higher watt versions

Anybody know the specs of the Logic 7 speaker system and whether I can just buy the same size aftermarket speakers and swap them over?

Thanks

Paul
