2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green
MY11 updates and new Luxury Pack

Popped into my local dealer today and he gave me some interesting info on the MY11 updates to the RRS. The updates will be for cars manufactured from 16th August 2010. Details aren't officially released until 17th July but I was taking careful notes!

The main changes are:
-Withdrawal of the TDV8 3.6 (due to non EU5 compliance). The engine choice will be the 3.0 TDV6 and 5.0 Supercharged
-DPF will be standard on the TDV6
-A new HSE Luxury pack to fill the price gap left by the TDV8
-Autobiography Sport is now a standard derivative and is available on the TDV6. Its now available with a wider range of exterior colours and the styling kit is available as an option on other models @£3200.
-Dynamic Response and Adaptive Dynamics with Dynamic Programme will now be available on the 3.0 TDV6.
-There is a new Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Gradient Acceleration Control (GAG) feature
-Land Rover Homelink Transmitter is now available as an option
-Standard equipment additions include Front PDC on the SE, Hybrid TV and Adaptive Dynamics on the HSE, Extended Leather and Heated Steering Wheel on the 5.0 SC HSE (but looses Adaptive front lighting)

The new 3.0 TDV6 HSE Luxury Pack priced at £3000 includes options valued at £5145:
-Contrast stitch
-Titan Grille and Air Intakes
-20" 5 spoke alloy wheels
-Premium LOGIC7 ICE
-Extended leather pack
-Heated steering wheel
-ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control)
-New 'HSE Luxury' badge

The 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography includes:
-Auto Headlamp Dipping
-Paddleshift
-Premium ICE
-Hybrid TV
-Heated Steering Wheel
-Extended Leather
-Park Heating
-ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control)
-Body Styling Kit

It costs £10,000 more than the TDV6 3.0 HSE. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Looking at that, I am now so glad I did not slow down my order for a My11. My TDV8 was ordered last month and will arrive before the end of July, I didnt want the car until the end of my existing PCP but my dealer has very generously bought me out of my existing car for a july delivery.

I paid extra for the DPF, Hybrid and the extended leather, but all in all I think I would prefer to pay for these and still have the TDV8.

I also cant help feeling the disappointment the current autobiography owners will feel when the so called Limited edition of 500 units now gets extended way further.

All in all I think i am pleased as i have been fretting over the changes for the past weeks since james told us the release date had changed

I am also glad that I have sold my still newish TDV6 3.0 with 5000 miles delivered only in November 09 and got me a brand new TDV8 with the so-called Ultimate Edition package instead. The new car will be ready to be picked up this Thursday. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I have got very good money for the TDV6 (buyer didn't wanted to wait til November) and got a great deal for the new TDV8 (10% off the already special priced TDV8 Ultimate Ediiton). The car comes with all the goodies like
extended leather, black lacquer, premium leather, paddles, coolbox, heated steering wheel, adaptive dynamics, Logic 7, Digital Radio, sunroof, etc. etc

I'm glad I didn't order mine and went with a different vehicle! Two dealers promised me faithfully the changes where minor and I would not be out of pocket, by the spec I was giving them I would have been way out of pocket.

The dealers knew I was aware of 2011 updates, they had the info but could not divulge it due to the press imbargo. I just had a nagging feeling the changes were more than they were letting on, glad I trusted my instincts and not them.

I'm not sure people will be worse off. You now get hybrid tv but the price has gone up (as has the price of some of the optional extras). Yes the Luxury pack will save you money but only if they were the exact options you were going to order separately. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

The options I had listed took it above what I could now get the autobiography for. If the dealers have only got this recently they still were being economical with the truth because they told me they had the info and it would not effect my purchase, having seen this post it would have and they knew what I required and I was very clear about my concerns re the 2011 MY. I got caught the same way when I ordered a FFRR suoercharged in Sept 2005, the updated interior was announced just 4 months later.

The changes are not massive I suppose but I would have had a HSE that cost more than a HSE Lux for the sake of two months and I told them I was prepared to wait for the new model but was informed they had seen the specs and it was not worth waiting, close call.

I don't think this is a trait shown by just land rover dealers, all of them do it thats why I spend so long on forums researching before I buy seems to me that what a dealer tells you is worth nothing when he is trying to get a sale.
