Go diving (a must)
Go quad biking in desert (again a must, go round sundown, cooler and less wind/dust)
Take a boat trip to Tiran Island, it's stunning. I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....

I went before you all caught on and they put the prices up Laughing

Quad bike is good, but the one we did you had to drive single file follow me leader style on limit speed quads with a crazy lass that drove into the back of people due to been as thick as pig Censored

I don't dive, but did plenty of snorkling

I'd say a must is being very careful where you eat and always wash/sterilise your hands before eating, especially after touching their money! And don't forget to haggle, they will try and rip you off in most places! I've been three times now. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Agree with the diving, if you've never done it before do a free trial that all of the hotels invariably offer (only about 5 minutes), and if you like it, you're already in one of the best places in the world to learn properly.

However, that being said, I actually got more out of the snorkelling in Sharm as there's so much near the surface and the fish and coral colours are so much more vivid at the top. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

Hi Nick...

We are going here http://www.atlantisthepalm.com/

Out on the 6th July (ish) I've heard some scare stories about sinking!! Thought I would go before it does....

I lived out in Dubai back in 82 and went to school there, my mum lived there for 8 years but originally went out there in the early 70's when her sisters husband got the job of head of security for Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan , after thay had to flee the Turk's in Cyprus....

No black stuff back then (70's) between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. !!!

I go a few times a year, my other half used to work in Abu Dhabi - and we love going back to Dubai - granted it's more expensive than London now (where isn't!) We stay at Dar Al Masyuf at Al Qasr, part of Jumeirah Group - love it there

agreed, with my asthma i was told i couldn't dive so just went off snorkling from my hotel along the coral shore and a few boat trips

went out on boat trips, one which i did took a coach to a large port which was bussling with dive boats (and for some strange reason a US Army base with gun toting GI's on guard) anyway the boat took us out to IIRC 6 coral peaks which just loom up from the deep and has loads of sealife to see when your floating by, this is were I saw a bloody great big leatherback turtle swimming by

one thing about the coast i found was it sank away to the depths very quickly and i always had the feeling of been watched from the depths, never had that any where else whilst snorkling

And whatever they try to tell you, if you're not venturing away from the Sinai peninsula, you do NOT need to pay for a visa! Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+
