how wide before rubbing

Afternoon guys,
Have seen a few posts mentioning tyres of 315 width on 20" or 22". I'm not really interested in going that way, but Mickey Thompson MTZs are available in 305 width, so was wondering how much, if any, rubbing has been encountered with these wider tyres. The MTZs end up at almost 33" diameter but I've got a 2.5" lift kit which includes suspension top blocks so I'm hoping only slight rubbing upon full lock and compression. Can anyone confirm how much rubbing I should expect (and how much use the grinder is gonna get).
Any advice is welcomed. 4wding only starts when you have to get out the cab. Everything before that is just driving on crap roads!

One problem is the clearance between the front upper control arm and the tyre. No way will it fit a 2010 model. Doubt it would fit the earlier ones either - there's not much clearance with 285's on.

Thanks Gordon, I was kinda thinking that previously, but saw the posts saying 315s had been fitted. Not to worry, the 305s were really expensive compared to the same tyre in 275 section, so I guess I'll just stick with that. The only problem with the 275 section MTZ is that it has a diameter of 33.4" compared to the 305s 32.6". They love to make things challenging don't they. Oh well, I'm hoping that as people have managed 32" tyres with no perminant lift (ie just sensor rods) without too much rubbing, I'll be able to get away with 33.4" with the 2.5" lift I'm going with.
Just out of interest Gordon, are you one of the guys getting steel 18" rims through Eastern? I only ask as you look from your profile picture to use yours in anger a bit? 4wding only starts when you have to get out the cab. Everything before that is just driving on crap roads!

I've got a set of 18" outer rims from Dynamic/Eastern that I'm trying to make up a centre for. It needs to fit over the 3.0 TDV6 2010 brake calipers and still be within the legal limit for offset.

It's proving rather hard ........ Crying or Very sad

Yep, I'm in the same boat with the brembos. Eastern still saying they have it licked though, they're just waiting for an overseas supplier to deliver the centres they have ordered.
If you're interested in bullbars, I'm in the early stages of getting a Melbourne company called FAT to make one for me. I've designed a railing system to get around the ADR / airbag problem, so hopefully will prove legal too.
I just can't wait to get this wheel issue sorted so I can actually go use the thing! 4wding only starts when you have to get out the cab. Everything before that is just driving on crap roads!
