Anyone been on Top Gear?

I've got tickets for the week after next, does anyone know where it's filmed? Thanks

Have got tickets but not in my hand, will get them end of this week (show for the Weds 28th) but was just wondering - thought it was in Herts.....

Apparently 500 tickets per show - seems like qute alot of people, especially if you're way out near the back....

Australia 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange

Prepare yourself for a long day of shuffling about, I went a few years back when they had the then new Ford GT on doing the lap. Think we were there for about 7hrs, they'll provide snacks & drinks outside during breaks where ifit's anything like the day I went, you'll be able to chat to the 3 chaps as they'll be out snacking with you. It's a big hanger, so 500 people are lost in it, but it does get a bit warm.

And yes, it's Dunsfold airfield in Surrey. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Didn't James go last year?

Doesn't appeal to me going to the show and watching it been film, rather watch the finished product, even though its over scripted etc

I enjoyed going. It is a lot of hanging around but you get to chat to lots of people and get to have a good look round any of the cars they have in the studio.

They are normally very strict about a 50/50 mix of men and women which can be a pain if it's a car forum arranged event like I went on! WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Bahrain 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Nara Bronze

They had my Alfa on the show back in May 2004.. So we spent the whole day at the airfield. Morning was spent hanging out with the 3 presenters and the Stig on the track, followed by the Stig taking my car round the track for a lap time (some pics in my gallery). They also had a F360 CS and a GT3 RS doing laps for the next episode, and Paul McKenna hypnotising Hammond on the track so he "couldn't" drive my car! Afternoon was spent in the hangar, which was abit boring tbh, alot of retakes and shuffling around in heat.

I'm sure things have changed 6 years on though!

NickM,

I've been before and may be there next Wed (28th) so will possibly see you there! Matt and his girlfriend are definately going but I'm not sure just yet. It is at the Dunsfold Aerodrome, however be careful as there are two entrances so you need to get the right one.

I was running late, got stuck in Guildford, was in my 'other car' so had a stick-on 5 yr-old sat nav, and got lost with moments to spare.

If you put in GU6 8TB into Google and select satalite view then you will see where it is. It is filmed in the building on the left which is under the bottom right corner of the coppice of tree's.

It gets super-hot in the studio and there is a lot of standing around, therefore wear something light (even shorts are fine) and make sure you've not been out the night before as there are often people that pass out. A mate was there 2 or 3 weeks ago and 3 people fainted.

It's good fun and interesting to see from the other side of the screen.

May see you.

James Thumbs Up

Thanks James - will def see you there or Matt....and really looking forward to it. Didn't go on the waiting list or apply for tickets - just a client got me 4 tickets as a thank you. Really can't wait and hope it will be as good as I hope it will be.

7 hours does seem a long time, but hope the weather is not too hot and we can stand the waiting around too...

Thumbs Up

Heard the stars in cars, either this week or next week, are Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz...
