Voice Activation

How many people have sat and taken time with the voice command system.
It seems to be learning my voice but it also seems to be a very slow painstaking process.
I have managed to store some of my more popular telephone numbers so far but it still struggles with various commands. Must be my Lancashire accent Smile . Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

I have given up to try to understand the voice command system.
command: telephone home = result: playing CD 4 ; etc, etc,
My dealer has asked several RRS owners and nobody is using this very bad voice command system. I will wait for an correct update of this amateurisch software and do not waste my time on this furthermore.

Don't expect any voice recognition updates or improvements. The system is the same on Disco 3, which has been produced for a year without improvements. It just doesn't work for everyone, which is common on voice recognition technology.

Hi Bobby,

Hi Biggles,

I hope to fair better too - otherwise we'll teach it a new language!

Here, we do not have the luxury of choosing the accessories - otherwise, God alone knows when the delivery will be! In my case, the 4.2 SC 1st Edition comes with a list of predetermined items. As for the stereo system, the list includes :
Rear Seat Entertainment (DVD)
Harman/Kardon Logic 7 System, 13 Speakers, Active Subwoofer
DSP Amplifier, Rear Headphone Module

Of course, being a 1st Edition, it will have, among others, a Personal Telephone Intergration System.

Now, all the above are just words where we are concerned. We have no brochures, test cars, nothing! There is not a single RRS in this country as we speak!!

As I've said before, if you like a LR, feel comfortable with the 'list' - then place an order and pay a deposit. Thats the system here.

Presently I have a Td4 Freelander, Td5 Disco II, and a RR 4.6HSE which I have been using for nearly 10 years. Used to have a Defender too but sold it already. I did not quite like the later RR and was thinking of perhaps getting the LR3. Then the RRS was introduced and the rest, as some would say, is history! At my age, and after using LRs for so long, what can I do? Once a LR man, always a LR man!!!

All that I know about my soon to be delivered car is what I read in forums like this. Many thanks.

The car was supposed to arrive here mid-July and delivery was late July. Now it is mid to late August. The wait is agonising!!! Malaysia Boleh!

The more I try the worse it gets,
I would like to meet the Land Rover person that designed the voice activation system. Bet they speak the queens english very well and with out any accent, and that does not include any foreign language or dialect.
Ask it to dial a number and it changes from radio to cd, ask to change to radio and it turns of the stereo Confused Confused , my eldest lad thinks it is hilarious. Now I know why Clarkson sreams shut up at any car that talks to him. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Your wait is not too far away from mine - that is if all goes well.
I think Biggles had one of the longest waiting time!! Damn!!

Lets hope things work out better for us. Malaysia Boleh!

Good for you, Biggles!!

I assume you will be doing alot of talking in your car now - much to the amusement of those around, especially if you're alone in the car at the traffic lights!

Enjoy youself, my friend!! Malaysia Boleh!

How do you change from male to female voice? I have a D3 with the latter and my RRS has the former but did not know it was optional.

Whatever you do do not change the voice to the female option - unless you talk nicely to it the RRS will simply ignore you until you apologise Very Happy 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
