2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Buckingham Blue
Lost key ---> what to do

valet parking lost my key
only way to move the car was to use my spare

theyre gonna order me a new one, and i used a scanner to deactivate the lost key (diasbled according to the autologic scanner)

is this completely safe?
can the old key open the car?

very imp! plz expert advice or ideas! thx

Mechanically it can still open the left hand door

but will the alarm go on if they use the disabled key to open the left door?

so i have to change the car's locks for the old key not to open? and are we sure they can't steal my car with the lost key if i disabled it?

I would think they could get in but not drive away,

If you wanted could you not disable your 'good' key to test what they might be able to do if they have it and then re-enable your key to work?

thought of it but kinda freaked out was working the scanner myself, my mechanic doesnt know english very well!

i was scared id deactivate all the keys! but sure makes sense!

if anyone's tried it please let me know! many thx
