Well after only 2800 miles my power assisted steering is playing up, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Took it in to dealer yesterday for quick check, they acknowledged there was a problem couldn't find any loss of fluid or slipping belt and said would have to carry out pressure checks, suspected either a pump or valve..

So booked in for tomorrow.. will update with results.

Well after 3 days have got car back, replaced power steering pump and also gear selector thingy outstanding from last visit (Gearbox fault indicator)

Noticed photograph with paperwork showing red plastic bung thingy, asked what it was and was told it looks like the plastic stops they put in the pump pipe connections to stop dirt etc from entering prior to fitting, it would appear one was left in when car was built.. and why pump has failed so quickly..!

Then when arriving home noticed oil or grease around centre console, glove box, passenger seat and door (I know should have checked it before leaving dealer) but worse than that lots of scratches along sliding cup holder cover..
Have sent photos and contacted dealer insisting on a new cover, awaiting reply.

Oh and loner for 3 days.. Ford Focus..

Not what I expect after spending 50k on a car, poor quality control by Landrover, poor quality control by dealer service department and poor customer service from Hartwell Landrover if the best they can offer is a Ford Focus when repairing under warranty. https://www.plus.net/refer.php?strReferral...d093cba6a7
