When I ordered my new RRS at the beginning of March, I followed my dealer's advice and didn't worry too much about the spec, just wanted to get the order placed to get a build slot so I could worry about the spec later; the dealer said we had up to about one week before the build date to go final.

My build slot is still about 4 weeks away, but at the weekend I finalised my spec and emailed it to my dealer yesterday. Just had an email back from him saying he can't change my spec any more and he's got to speak to LR and see if there's anything that can be done to amend it!

Perhaps I wouldn't be too bothered if there wasn't much difference between my original order and my final spec, but we're talking a different colour, different trim, different major options here!

I'm just hoping that LR will change my order, otherwise I'm going to have to wait several more weeks for a new build slot - I'm not willing to pay that amount of money for a car that isn't EXACTLY what I want.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't just take a chance on it, I was assured by the dealer that the spec wouldn't need to be finalised until a couple of weeks before the build date, which is also in line with my experience of buying new cars buiit-to-order in the past.

jings, that was lucky.........although "bell-end blue" is growing on me!

i presumed that when they take your order they more or less have a build date for it, LR must be going flat out for them to bring the date forward by weeks. i was told the same, i only changed one item two weeks after ordering which was 5 weeks before actual delivery and all arrived ok!!!
