MY10...Check your windscreen surrounding strip!

I had a bit of a scary experience today whilst travelling up the motorway!

One minute everything is calm, the next.....wind and vibration noise from what I thought was the roof, which turned out to be the top beading of the windscreen surround.

Apparently, I was lucky as there was nothing holding it in, the expert said that you have to add the sealant, then move the windscreen upwards to get a proper seal - obviously part of the process missed on my car.

Anyway, job done in 2 minutes - it may happen to you! 'Shocked' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

Good question!

Its really obvious if the beading is coming away from the windscreen surround. You'll hear all about it if its loose, otherwise suggest you leave well alone.

I doubt a LR dealer would be much help if it does happen, suggest you go to a windscreen specialist with a mastic gun, its amazing what a fiver will do!'Razz' .
