Parking at Manchester Airport

I have decided to fly from Manchester in early July as the cost of 4 flights to Spain is £800 cheaper than from any Scottish airport. Scandalous. Anyway - can anyone recommend a good secure car park at Manchester airport?

Personally I use my mates house over in St Helens for flights from there and free taxis to and from the airport!! Laughing Know what you mean about the prices though. Everyone down there thought we were mad driving there to fly until I explained that to get to europe I have to drive to Glasgow Shi*port any way so its only an extra 2 and a half hours to Manchester and a good few hundred quid cheaper. Only European places you can get to from Aberdeen now is Bergen?? (WHY??) Copenhagen?? Amsterdam (WAHEY!! Laughing ) and Paris. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

When I have been away on corporate golf trips in recent years, several people hae stayed overnight in Bewleys Hotel.

Just checked their website and they do a deal for park (upto 15 nights), stay (1 night) and fly for £99.

Not sure how this compares to the car parking fees.

thanks chaps. I have booked into jetparks at the airport onsite. £51.99 for 16 days. A bargain. At Glasgow airport it would be £160! onsite (off site around £60). This exposes the absolute rip-off we Scots have to endure in this regard. By driving to Manchester, I have saved £585 on flights. This is even taking into account my daughter and her chum flying back to Scotland a week before me and SWMBO. Had the girls came back via Manchester with us, I would have saved a further £100 on the flights. The cost to go to Manchester from Glasgow? A pleasant 3 hour drive in the RRS each way and £80 in diesel. And BAA wonder why passenger traffic is falling at Scotland's largest airport. Evil or Very Mad If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

Agree totally with you Muff but the customer service at Glasgow is crap too!

2 years ago when I first had the accident that did for my back we were due to fly from Glasgow and I still had problems walking any distance even with crutches. I told the holiday company about it and they arranged assistance for me on arrival at the airport.

We got there and asked a staff member who told us to head to a waiting area and use the phone there. After walking there I was akready in pain and starting to struggle. Called and waited, called again and waited while our check in time came and passed. We started walking but I ended up nearly collapsing in agony so a first aider was called who got me a wheelchair and took us to a cafe so I could get a drink and take more painkillers. He left us there while a girl from the holiday company appeared and told ud we had 10 minutes to get to the flight! We hadn't even managed to check in at that point!

We ended up with my 11 year old son being left to push me in a wheelchair (I'm not a little guy) out to get a taxi back to the hotel to collect the car and head back to Aberdeen.

A written complaint to BAA Glasgow went unanswered so needless to say we've never used Glasgow again! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.
