Any Advice On Where To Sell A Private Number ???

Good evening, as above really, i am thinking about selling the number on the wifes car as we are going to sell her car and have no plans to replace it. Does anyone have any pointers on where best to advertise or get a valuation done etc ?

Any opinions welcome Thumbs Up

I've used www.regtransfers.co.uk before, was painless and I got a good price. I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....

Just got a valuation e-mail from regtransfers, i am thinking they must be computer generated because its quite a way off in my opinion, which is only based on what i paid when i bought the plate new so i`m a little confused now Confused

Cheers Mr. Green

It probably will be less now for the simple fact that it's a "normal" 54 plate, albeit you can interpret it as a personal plate, if that makes sense. People buying new cars are probably going to be wary of putting a personalised plate on that might make people think their new car is actually 6 years old, especially as most other drivers wouldn't understand the significance of the registration and would probably just read it as a normal 54 plate.

If the plate was obviously not a normal one, or was of an old style that it was clearly not the same age as the vehicle, then I think it would be worth more. So, ironically, this plate may be worth more once we get a long way past 2004. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

Yeah, i see what you mean, i just thought there must be loads of Mrs Macs of some sort out there that would like the plate as it covers a broad spectrum of names..

Just cant really see us replacing the wifes car for a while if we do sell it so it would end up on retention lying in my desk with her nipping my head to buy her a car for it ... Laughing Laughing

I have contacted newreg for a valuation and am awaiting their reply, so i`ll wait and see what they come up with.

Cheers Thumbs Up

I'd guess anywhere between £500 to £1000, as others say it would make a post 2004 car look older than it is.
