Kerbed wheels and cracked rear bumper all in same day...

Yesterday was my birthday, everyone wished me a Happy birthday, but was I happy...not after kerbing my wheels coming out of a multi-storey car park which had ridiculously high kerbs and narrow road channels to drive round tight bends.. Evil or Very Mad

Then an hour later reversing out of a parking space at B&Q saw a car approaching, was he going to let me out, yes he slowed, checked nothing coming the other way, all clear and backed out..”CRUNCH” how was I to know a guy in an ‘S’ type Jag parked dead opposite me was doing exactly the same as me, saw the car approaching and that he was letting him out, reversed out and we met in the middle, he had broken rear light and scuffs, me scuffs and a small crack in the top corner of the bumper... Sad

Haven’t done 2000 miles in it yet...so not a Happy Birthday..! Shocked Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

not a good day by the sounds of it

A freel2 member complained to a carpark with the same high kerbs and got some money off them, might be worth a try

Npinks it depends on where the damage took place as I claimed the money back when I had this problem. If the kerb is owned by a private Company such as a car park agency, mine was, then you can claim for the damage if you have sufficient evidence such as pictures of the wheel and kerb to show scrape mark. Get some quick if you have not, then you can claim stating that due care and attention was not provided to you ' the customer' as you were paying I hope to use the facility provided which was not up to standard therefore the damage to your car.

Bell shaped kerbs should be fitted in certain areas of car parks to stop this type of damage so hopefully this is your position, I got a free season ticket for parking and a shopping centre credit card with the value of my wheel repair on it to spend on anything I wished.

Did not pay directly for the wheel but covered the costs and more so I considered that a top result.

Contact the kerb owner and see what you can do that is my opinion Thumbs Up
