Now I need to let my frustration over this car out
All started two weeks ago at work, when the car didn't respond to the key fob. I have the keyless entry option, just to pull the doorhandle as the car has registered the key's presence, not this time. Locking myself into the car manually, the alarm went off. Still no contact between the key and car although I put the key under the steeringwheel as suggiested in the handbook.
Called the dealer and they turned up with a mechanic. After long time they detached the battry cables and linked them together for 20 minutes, mounted back together and the car started. All seemed just fine again.
Day after, wife took the car for shopping and parked in a tight parking house. Returning to the car with six heavy bags, the car didn't respond to the key. Same again. Called NAF (Norway's LRA) and they tried the same procedure as worked the day before, nothing happened. Time to bring the car in for the dealer, but how to do this from a tight parking house when the gearbox left in P and steering lock engaged? OK, jack it up and loosen the axel under the vehiecle ant tow it out as the big rescue truck was too big for the parking house to enter.
RRS left by the dealer to sort the problem, they reported error with imobilliser. Waited almost two weeks for relacement parts from the UK, dealer called me thursday and told me the car was ready to be collected. Transmitter in the imobilliser replaced and they said the problem was solved. Drove direct home. Two hours later going out for a drive, stone dead again
Must be something causing this problem, any suggiestions?
My patience with RRS is now coming to a test, keeping in mind my previous 07 2,7TDV6 was stuck by the dealer for 8 weeks when Dynamic Respond blew.
Luckiely I didn't have the time to return the loaner car, a five year old Passat. 2010 RRS TDV6 3,0, Bali Blue/Tan/Anigre/Dynamic Pack/Logic7/Keyless entry/Paddle
