Tow Bar Compatibility

Thinking of trading in my 2006 TDV6 2.7 for a nice new MY10 TDV6 3.0 SE

Does anyone know if the quick detach towhook I have on my 2006 car will fit the 2010 car? I seem to remember it was quite an expensive option on the 2006 so I'm hoping I can transfer it.

If so, what else needs to be ordered to support this? Towbar electrics? Fitting bracket?

Thanks to anyone who knows the answer.

Robin

FWIW the part numbers are different.

For 06MY it is KNB500013 and for 10MY it is KNB500070. Hard to imagine a fundamental difference though - perhaps they have made the key more robust. Rolling with laughter

The key on the MY10 towbar has been redesigned to prevent it snapping off if you leave it in situ whilst in the boot.

I believe the MY10 tow bar itself fits the prior models and is identical, so if you are paying dealer prices would suggest you get MY10 for the better design of the key.

For the Aussie version at least, with the MY10 version, the spare can be removed while the tow bar is fitted to the vehicle. With previous models, the towbar had to be removed to lower the spare. Not an ideal situation.

Thanks for the feedback guys. V8 Andy do you know what is different about the wiring on the 2010 models? My LR dealer said the same thing but had no idea what was actually different about the electrics, but he did confirm that the 2006 towbar would fit the 2010 cars.
