Loss of power and airbag light on

Had an issue when I started the car this evening. It felt a bit soggy when I started it so I pressed the accelerator to rev it a little and it was hugely reluctant to rev atall, even with the accelerator pressed 3/4 down.

I turned the engine off, thinking it may be a start up software glitch. It did the same again but the airbag warning light had also come up. It would drive but was very sluggish.

Car is 06 HSE V6 with 52K, any thoughts?

I tried it a while ago, same thing.. I hope you're right and a good nights sleep does indeed fix it.

Shame, having being through a rough patch earlier in its life with steering issues, anti roll bar knocks etc, its been a happy bunny for the last 20k miles and been across europe twice. Don't let me down now!!

Sounds like an egr valve problem, apart from the air bag light on the dash, mine had very similar symptoms a few weeks ago, but it was the engine management light that came on.

Car would rev very slowly till above 3k rpm then it would be fine, it was the rhs egr valve, £305 to replace at lr.

Well, a good nights sleep didn't change anything and whilst it started ok, it was very sluggish to start and wouldn't even drive up the slight incline on the driveway until it had warmed up for a few minutes. Once driving it was capable of reasonable progress etc but v slow pulling away from junctions etc.

I have a feeling it is a software issue as the airbag light is still on and also the seatbelt light comes on (I had disabled the seatbelt light on when not wearing it a couple of years ago) so it looks like one or more of the ECUs has thrown a wobbly. There is still no warning light coming up on the dash for any engine malfunction which I heard was normally the case with the EGR issue.

Anyone got any idea how you can do a reset on the electronics system? I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn't make any difference. Guy Salmon Gatwick are stacked out with work all week but have agreed to try and slip it in during the week.
