Range Rover Sport stolen in Chelmsford, Essex - Thurs AM

Hello, our Range Rover Sport was stolen yesterday morning from Chelmsford, Essex. They seem to have gone to great lengths to get in and also took the TV and various other items on the way through. The car also had brand new baby car seat and base - baby due in 2 weeks.

Cairns Blue Range Rover Sport SE
Reg No - LC55 ONK

No tracker fitted unfortunately.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kitty

Better to never see it again as it now has a 'stolen' record which means less ££££ when you sell it !!!

Scumbags they are!

Does anyone have any experience of car being stolen whilst under finance? We've still got outstanding finance on the car and I'm convinced we're going to lose out massively, never ever had this happen to us before, just can't seem to get any answers from insurance co.

2 things.......

If it is recovered and doesn't require any expenditure (repairs or payout to you) from the insurance company then I am fairly sure that it will not be recorded. Forum member Leedsunited is an expert on this and he may be able to shed some light.

As far as I am aware you will need to continue with the monthly payments and if you are paid out then the finance company will be settled and you will get the surplus; unless of course they pay out less than the finance owed.

I'm sure that there are forum members who have been in this situation who can advise.

It's a really horrible thing to happen. Back in 2005 I disturbed two guys breaking in to my house to steal the Cairns Blue RRS that I had at the time. As mentioned before... you are ok and the car can be replaced, however I'm sure that you can do without this with only 2 weeks to go. Hopefully it will take your mind off the car.

If you need any help from me (approx values etc) then let me know, and if you want me to circulate the vehicle details to the dealer network then either PM (if you have 5 posts) or email me at jamest@lookers.co.uk and I will gladly put the dealers on the look out. SE's are rare, especially in Cairns Blue, therefore it should be easy to spot if it is offered to a dealer.

Really sorry for you Kitty, as you live fairly close to Felixstowe, make sure that your local Police have informed the Dock Police there - there is a huge business in stolen RHD RRS and FFRR out of Felixstowe to India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka where these cars are virtually impossible to buy out there through legitimate routes so they get stolen to order here and shipped out within a week. In the last 6 months more than 70 RRS and FFRR have been recovered out of conatainers awaiting shipment through Felixstowe 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Really sorry to hear this Kitty as I know just what you are going through (we had our RRS stolen in Oct). Your car is probably currently parked up in the Barking area waiting to see if it has a Tracker. You are probably lucky not to have a Tracker as you wont want it back.
I really dont understand why being stolen effects the selling price later, especially if the repair work was superficial.
Goog luck and I hope the scum get sent back.

After I got broken in to a few years back the advice from the insurance company was that statistically you are most likely to be burgalled 1-3 months after you have just been burguled because the f Censored rs know you have now got a load of new stuff. Kev

Very sorry to hear of this. I can relate to this as I had a brand new car stolen after just three weeks of ownership. Sad

Trackers are useless ever since the introduction of GPS jammers. You can buy them off ebay for £10, plugs into the cigarette lighter and creates an invisible 'shield' around the car. The only good thing about a tracker is it offers some kind of discount off your insurance policy.

A Clifford Blackjaxx may be worth installing as this will cut the cars power after the keys have been stolen. Cool

Hope you sort it, it took 13 weeks for me to get paid out on mine Shocked
