MY2011........

Maybe getting a bit ahead of myself here (always want what I can't have)...I was speaking to stealer about getting a new RRS and which engine to go for, he mentioned no point in V8 Diesel now as it would be updated for 2011 MY so V6 is the one to go for now. However there are some nice toys on the V8 I dont think you can get on the V6. Wondered what opinions were, if anyone else heard this and what other thnngs might get introduced this year? (I am thinking running lights that comply with new regs is a prime candidate...). Wont stop me going for it - cant wait until september/october and there is always something new round the corner!

I thought everything that is standard on the TDV8 over the TDV6 could be added as an option? WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

thanks - the toys i was thinking about were on the MY2010, I am not sure but I think you get extra ride setting etc on the V8 Diesel and S/C that you cant get on the V6 - I may be wrong. Was interesting to hear about a new V8 Diesel for 2011 *IF* it is the case!

At the Geneva Salon I was told that the new 4.0l TDV8 will be in both the FFRR and the RRS '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

4.4 TDV8 going in FFRR but too big for RRS. Big drive to reduce emissions currently.

Will they keep the 3.6 TDV8 going, or just go to one diesel engine option James?

On the FFRR, is the 4.4 TDV8 with with MY11, or waiting for the all new MY12 FFRR??

Not sure on the 3.6 in the Sport but understand that it will continue for the forseeable future.

FFRR will be 4.4 for 11my which will be later this year. Power and price will be increased, however emissions are expected to be significantly reduced.

Apart from the 4.4 in FFRR I don't expect there to be any significant changes to either RRS or D4 due to the 2010my changes. You may get the odd new colour introduced etc perhaps. We will be talked through the 11my product in the summer at some point.

Despite changing to the FFRR 2010, keep on missing this site... Laughing

Received a note from dealer concerning recall for 2010 modell, so today they changed battery and updated software concerning air condition, phone and some other stuff. Just bought it a couple of days ago... While I was waiting I received infos about new 4.4 TDV8 due in September:
312 PS 3750 rpm
700 Nm 2000 rpm
10.2 l/100 km
8 gears

Not as much additional power as you might expect for the cc upgrade?

TDV8:
640NM @ 2000rpm
272PS (200KW)
11.1 l/100km

So 22% increase in cubic capacity delivers 9% torque improvement and 14% increased power. I guess the big performance increase will come from a closer ratio gearbox with 8 sets of cogs.

With an 8 speed auto it sounds to me as if high and low range will be a thing of the past, it will all be done with one gearbox. Wink
