RRS 2.7 turbo

Can anyone help.

I'm planning on removing my turbo from my V6 2.7 td RRS, I've just been informed that there are two bolts that have to be burnt off with gas bottles, as you can't access them. Surely this isn't true. Any info is welcome.

Totaly gutted, ive just replaced the turbo and the fault is still the same, very flat wont rev above 1000rpm.

It was a LR mechanic that diagnosed it after the EGR valves were replaced and there was a turbo fault.

I can only hope that the ECU requires restting and the fault code cleared, but to be honest i think ive just wasted alot of money.

It sounds like a hose or intercooler fault possibily.

What codes were present ?

The fault is detected as soon as the ignition is swithed on, without even driving it.

Its back in to a LR specialist at the moment to see what they come up with.

I'll get the codes from them this week when they look at it.

its possibly air flow sensor often gives p 00-46 fault
wrongly interpreted as turbo fault

Where were you when i needed you?

Yes it is indeed.

Now after replacing the EGR valve's and a very expensive turbo unit it was the airflow meter.

Town & County LR diagnosed my faults in a homer for me as i used to work there. They diagnosed the EGR's as being faulty then the actuator on the turbo as being faulty but as it turns out i replaced all three and it was still the same.

I'm gutted as i have no come back from Town and County LR as it was a homer but i think that reflects on the qaulity of service that you get from there. I know i have repeated myself several times in the last few posts but they're meant to be specialists.

So i have a perfectly good V6 turbo for sale now. Any ideas how much it would be worth second hand, think ebay is the right place to sell.

To be honest Davie its nothing to do with Town & County and if you weren't such a tight ass you would have just paid the money for the dealership to sort it other than one of the guys making a quick buck off you!!!! If you can afford the car then you can afford the maintenance costs that go with it if not you should stick to running a fiesta or something that suits your wallet mate. I've had my car in there and paid top dollar for what I see as a good service as they always try to sort out the faults for me. As you should know the product isn't without its faults so it's not always the dealers fault.

Lawzer - take my hat off to you mate for speaking your mind on this and also the other post.....but it's in peoples nature to have a moan and a vent - and when it's close to your heart, these things become bigger issues.

But I agree with your point re this turbo thing - you can't have low running costs with a car like this - yes we all try to get a bargain as and when we can....but sh** happens and we take it on the chin, or we don't.

Now ease off before you make someone cry mate!!!
