Vent grilles inside the wheel arches

Today while washing the mud from Keilder out from the wheel arches in preparation for a visit to the dealers tomorrow I noticed that in the front of the offside wheelarch plastic liner there is a grille of vents at the back of the bumper inside the arch of my car, but then on looking on the nearside there isn't the same grille of vents.

Anybody know why

a) The vent is there
b) why it is only on one side? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

"Due to package constraints an auxiliary radiator is required to maintain acceptable coolant temperatures under arduous driving conditions such as high-load and high ambient temperatures. This radiator is located in the in the RH wheel arch area, with cooling airflow supplied by a dedicated aperture in the front bumper. The auxiliary radiator is connected in parallel with the main radiator, with the coolant flow being controlled by the main engine thermostat."
