Goodbye Toybota

Decided to punt out the uninspiring Toybota Avensis 1.8 petrol engine work vehicle, would suit a man who wears driving gloves and a "Pork Pie" hat and loves driving round at 20mph, unfortunately thats not me. Gone for a Mondeo Estate (need Estate for work) 2.0 130bhp diesel Zetec auto box. Have i done right? purple people eater

You have done wrong on 2 counts:

Bought a Ford (The only acceptable Ford is the GT), bought an estate.

Laughing

Seriously if it does the job you need for work then so be it!

Thought about a Skoda Octavia estate, but needs to be white or silver, highways work often at night, estate needed for size and gear we have to carry, (mainly in this nanny state I am full of Personal Protective Equipment because we have to dress up like tailors dummies and protect every conceivable body part in case we cut our little pinkies or something.) The flat back of an estate also lends itself well to the many reflective chevrons and "Highway Maintenance" stickers that we are obliged to attatch, as if the white or silver car with lights and amber flashing beacons insn't enough! Need tractor juice cos cover lots of miles, so with the white or silver estate, diesel and all the toys I like, a little limited on second hand market, not found many that fit the bill, so this one seems to tick all but the "cool" boxes. Could use the PPE but would have to stick reflective yellow stripes down the side and it would clash with the purple paint. purple people eater
