Any one have an expedition rack for an RRS. The roof bars look crape!! Saw a rack on a disco wondered if there is one for the RRS? away over the steppes........its the place to be!!!!

yes there is an expedition rack for the RRS, have a look in Alicat's or VA's galleries as they have them. It is also removable so you don't have to keep it on the car roof. You can also see what it looks like buy going over to the LR website and doing the build your own car thing

It was around £550 from Landrover. Never used to show up as an accessory for Sport as listed seperatley under the G4 accessories cat.

If you want to remove it at times then it is best to have the roof rail system fitted as this makes it much easier to put on and take off. If mounted directley to roof when removed leaves exposed holes, some people have fitted new rubber strips to cover these up, but it is a pain to put on and off this way.

roof rail system is around another £150.

I have also a set of roof bars that fit into the rails and have found them useful as they are so easy to put on and off. If I think may require them throw them in the back and mount them when needed. Think these are around another £90.

The roof rack itself is very queit when fitted but does drop the milage by 2-3 mpg and is not that big, especially compared to the Disco 3 one. is also difficult to access without a rear ladder being fitted, (or your very tall).
I have not fitted ladder as you loose the ability to access rear through top hatch only which I use a lot.

No idea how much this is.

I have also had a bolt shear on the mounting kit that fits the rack to the rails, which you will need to order a whole mounting kit as no seperate bolts are available from Landrover another £50 odd quid. This sheared with hardly any pressure applied, sure it was a one off but has made me a little cautious and constantly check them when in use

I see the rear ladder is £2 more expensive than the actual rack now at duckworths:!:

I got mine from CHPR just over a year ago at a good discount and they fitted it while the forum meet was going on outside.
