Hi guys
I recently ordered a new TDV6 HSE for delivery in March. My chosen spec included the Surround Camera option. The dealer contacted last week advising that Land Rover had (temporarily ?) ditched the surround camera option and therefore it would not be available on my car!!
I was aware (from previous posts on the Forum) that there had been issues with the Surround Cameras at the end of 2009 but thought the issue had been resolved for 2010 production?
Has anyone had the same problem ? Anyone know what the problem is?

I was speaking to a dealer last weekend about this, as I am still working on getting my RR Sport, and was told something similar. Dealer didn't say that it was unavailable, just that there were backlogs in the actual surround camera system from the supplier that could delay the delivery of the vehicle.

According to this post from James at LPR, they were available to order in Dec after the original set of issues.

Thanks for your comments so far - I had previously seen the post from James which is why I thought the problem had been resolved.

However, the plot thickens !!!

Yesterday I rang 3 other dealers at random and also spoke to Land Rover Customer Service. All of them advised that they were NOT aware of any current problem!!

I then called the Sales Manager of 'my' dealer who agfter some 'interesting' discussion was 'able' to put the Surround Camera Option back on my order.

Not really sure what the problem was but I suspect the dealer cocked up the pricing on my deal and was trying to save himself a £ or 2 by removing the option from my order (and I think I may know why.........)

Needless to say I am now less than impressed with my Dealer

Agree with you there WW. Over two weeks wait for a compressor for mine. Youd think that would be a major part to keep in stock.  Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

I have single rear camera on the shiny new FFRR Vogue - very clever - very nice  Smoke me a kipper: I'll be back for breakfast.

RRS HSE TDV6 gone after 15 months since new - will not be missed I'm afraid - bit of a gremlin in there somewhere - too many issues. Replaced with FFRR Vogue TDV8 - very nice - not as sporty (of course) but absolute luxury.

LR aren't the only company with this supply problem - Honda are short of parts too 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Most car parts are made by a small number of firms... most mfrs don't make their own bits and bobs, so I guess its further down the supply chain where there are delays?

Have now had a further conversation with my dealer to try and understand why I was told Land Rover had withdrawn the Surround Camera option.
The story is that at the time they tried to place my order with the factory (sometime after 9 January) there was still a 'block' on ordering the cameras. What they failed to do was realise the block had been lifted after that time and amend my order accordingly ****!!!!
It was only by chance looking at other Forum posts that I noticed other people were apparently ordering cameras without problem - hence I queried the matter!
Good job I did - otherwise I would have ended up with a car without cameras when I could/should have had them The problem now appears to be resolved so I look forward to getting my new RRS in March
