Should I Keep or Sell?

My RRS V6 HSE is a 2006 and will be 6 years old in Feb 2012 it has done 90,000 largely trouble free miles since I bought her new.,

My dilemma is do I keep her and just accept the bills are going to get higher as the mileage gets higher or do I sell and trade down to a 3 year 4x4 with less miles?, I cannot justify the cost of another new RRS having paid £49k for this one so I would be looking for an alternative used 4x4 in the £25k-£30k mark.

I have thought perhaps a Disco or Lexus hybrid or Volvo XC70 ??????????

Any and all recommendation's welcome

Thanks

Better the devil you know Thumbs Up
If your not bored with your motor, keep it, then again the newer model is appealing with its plush interior. Sorry i know i havn't been much help Wink Decisions decisions Confused You've definately had the best out of your motor but it could go on for another 90,000 trouble free miles

What's it worth? Like you say you are still driving around in a £50k car and anything you replace it with, has to be of equivalent new value to get the same feel.

It is past it's useful life IMHO, I'm hooked on LR's product, there is nothing that can match it. I would stretch the budget and get in a used 2010MY RRS if you can, or like me take a hiatus and save up to get back in a new one...... Gone:

I am sort of in the same boat I have a 2005 and cant make my mind up either to keep it for another year and lose more money on it or change it in December for a 2007/08 with low miles.

Keeping it is the most practical and sensible option.

With dealers putting on and knocking off around £4-6000 on selling and buying you are going to be losing around £10 grand which is a a whole lot of repairs.

It is tempting to have the latest gizmos but the bank balance suffers.

Biggest cost in motoring is buying and selling and if you have a good one then keep it, have sold 3 x landrovers between 6-7 years old thinking it could get costly, 2 of which I know of continued for another 3 years at least with no problems. Now driving a rather smart looking Van

If you have to go down the Volvo route I'd recommend xc90 if you can, great in the snow and for lugging people and stuff about (we've got one).

But still not a patch on the RRS for enjoyment. Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

Sell your RRS and get into an XC90? Madness! Used to have the Volvo would never go back after the Rangey. Run it til it drops is what I'd do. TDV6 2010 HSE

If fuel costs don't bother you. Sell it and buy the Cherokee SRT8. Awsome motor!! Wolf in sheeps clothing and you'll show the Porsche and ferrari boys up. Laughing

Keep it or get into a 2007/8 TDV8.

Me? I'd just keep it and run it till it drops if you're happy with it. There's a lot to be said for knowing your vehicle inside and out. Chances are, if you've looked after it thus far then it'll give you another 6 years of enjoyable motoring. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
