Cheers for all the input guys. Tim, when we burst our tyres we called RAC straight away and dropped the car off there.

Ill go against the grain here.

Land rover were quite happy to take the money and profit on 2 22" tyres.
Land rover sell overfinch 22" alloys

so in that case either should of said no we wont touch it, and not sell 22" wheels themselves or look into the problem.

Land rover should have cheked both wheels properly before fitting new tyres,

tyres should be sent away for testing. or the matter looked into as I would not be happy.

Firstly, it's not Land Rover at fault here, it's a dealer and that's IF a proportion of blame can be be applied here, which IMO it probably cannot.

It's irrelevant whether Overfinch supply 22" wheels to their customers or not, as far as I know LR do not sell these from any of their dealers. You will find that OVF warrant the wheels at that size, NOT LR.

As for supplying and fitting the 22" tyres to your existing rims, you requested them to do it, so therefore they are only carrying out your request to supply and fit the tyres. End of. If the tyre was manufactured poorly and importantly you can prove it with some long drawn out expensive process of pinning the blame, you might have a case to pursue.

If however the RIM is to blame, you are well and truly F Censored d. Case closed.

Good luck. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

To confirm, LR dealers cannot sell non-approved accessories as this forms part of their franchise agreement. This is so that the quality, performance and above all safety of our vehicles can be guaranteed.

I agree with WW it's the dealer that fitted them not LR

does the dealer actually fit them themselves or palm them off to the local tyre depot Question

Was there any damage to the rims at all after the duel blowout?

James, I do not disagree with you as you know better than anyone here about the terms and conditions of franchise agreement. Though, from my experience there are dealers who are selling aftermarket parts as OF. That is all...

C1OKO, I don't disagree with you either. LR would not be impressed if they found anyone in the network selling non-approved items. Top issues are wheels, remaps and exhausts in that order. Wink

Whilst I agree with the sentiment about compensation I do get a bit bored with the high and mighty attitude of many people on this site slagging off 22" wheels on RR Sports. Go in to the Farnell dealership in Leeds tomorrow - you will see 3 2010 RR sports with VERY nice cosworth 22" or kahn 22" - sold by Farnell - no little notes saying they're not covered under warranty and seemingly recommended by Farnell...a LR main dealer.

I have driven my car for the best part of 45k miles on 22" overfinch reps without any problems supplied by www.individualcars.com - just recently fancied a change so swapped for some new 2010 polished alloys.

There is no doubt that the car looks right with 22" ers and equally very little doubt that there is any proof that fitting them will wreck your car (even though LR will do anything to squirm out of mending obviously faulty parts).

I don't think the issue is 22" wheels. Reading through Eazy's posts, he mixes up wheel and tyre - even the thread title is misleading.

The issue, as far as I understand, is that the tyres were the wrong size for the wheel. However, poor quality wheels can cause similar problems.

Eazy - what size are the tyres and how wide is the wheel, also what's the load rating of the wheels (should be stamped on the back)?

Hmmm. I think the 22" wheels look great, filling that huge void that is the wheelarch, BUT in my experience and i'm talking 3 days of hell, it totally changed the vehicle and for all the wrong reasons, handling, grip, feel. Aesthetically great, but in the real world and for me, horrendous and ultimately dangerous.

At the end of the day, if you don't like standard which offers the benefit of full LR protection, do it........if on the other hand Farnells choose to ignore their supply agreement, good on them, at the same time don't expect other dealers to follow suit just because one bends the rules shall we say Wink

.......bought my car from Farnells Guisley........great no nonsense bunch Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

eazy,

ive just got @ revere, they are good friends of mine and decent guys, unlike some other tunners ive dealt with in the past, they put every effort into their products and produce them to the highest standard,

i told them about the thread and they have said if you can take some photoes of the cracked wheels, and let them know the tires sizes they will look into it for you and get you to a solution!

they will also find out who supplied the wheels for the car!

give simon a call after 10am tomorow on 02070221291

let him know that i told you to call after i saw the threat just to remind him! RR Sport supercharged 06
