I remember something like this in the UK a few years ago, a guy driving a BMW reported his accelerator had stuck and his brakes had burnt out... eventualy he totaled the car at a junction. The guy was charged with various motoring offences as upon examination they could find nothing wrong with his car Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
