2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Glasgow to Fort William via the west side of Loch Lomond on the A82 but NOT in the height of summer........................... too many touring coaches also enjoying this great road but driving at 45mph so the wrinklies can enjoy the stunning scenery. I would combine this with a side trip out to Loch Etive along the single track road from opposite the King's House Hotel, return via Glen Ogle, Callandar and the Trossachs. It's a long day out though at 350 miles round trip, but the roads are cracking for GT type driving!

Otherwise West side of Loch Lomond on the A82 to Tarbert then over Rest and Be Thankful to Inveraray on the A83.

Shorter "daytrips" that I like are Tyndrum to Oban on the A85, Fort William to Mallaig on the new "road to the isles" but if it is a glorious sunny day then taking the old road via all the little villages is very nice and you won't believe how white the sands are or how blue the Sea of the Hebrides is.

If you are way north then there is a great drive from Kyle of Lochalsh to Auchtertyre to Stromeferry, to Lochcarron, and than over the staggering road to Applecross - this road is a favourite with bikers too and is often closed while the emergency services scrape a biker off a tree or the road surface.............................

There are many many cracking roads in the Highlands that you can drive really fast and not meet another car for long periods. The scenery is so "big" that also even though you drive quickly it still seems to take an age to go passed! T 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey

My favourite is the A835 out to Ullapool from the Tore roundabout on the A9. Once you go out through Tarvie and then Garve, the road opens up into long straights with sweeping curves coupled with the odd twisty stretch!

The views out by Loch Glascarnoch are amazing as is the one as you crest the hill and see Loch Broom laid out in front of you! Stunning!

Then if you feel really adventurous you can follow it up to Loch Assynt and into Lochinver! Again stunning views, sweeping bends and a great view!

Ran it 2 yrs ago in the 5 series and had great fun then last year in the Sport! Beautiful bit of road! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

535d m-sport Platinum grey and a few extras.... Gone
