Now why didn't they design these things so that you select onroad height and then insert some pins at strategic points to hold it at that height - or better still why not a an electronic lock like locked access height - oh then you might be able to get an alignment at a non stealer. Might be OK in ole blighty with a stealer on every street corner but even in cities in Ozz can be a long drive to a stealer (having said that mine is only 5km away but have never used them for anything).

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Zambezi Silver

It can be done in normal height mode, but to be done properly needs to be locked. There was originally a lot of issues with RrS's and D 3's coming off the line with the geometry set wrong, my first D 3 did a pair of rear tyres in 13k miles due to the camber being way out !! And guess what.... They B/S'd there way out of it ! 08 2.7 RRS "S"

Why have a 4x4 with adjustable suspension geometry a racecar would be proud of ? Having recently watched my suspension arms be stripped down & replaced, the number of camber bolts in there are ridiculous. It's far more complex than it needs to be and that causes no end of trouble when trying to get it set back up again. As you say Garry, there needs to be a simpler way of setting & locking the ride height.

With the new front arms & bolts it proved impossible to get the settings correct. LR have changed not only the design of the arms but the bolt design as well by the looks of things, the alignment place have all the correct Hunter gear to set it up but they couldn't get the front set properly at all, it ran out of movement on the subframe I'm told. We're considering putting the old bolts back in and trying that out. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.
