Do you have to pay for it?

We can buy direct from the DVLA over the internet, but the special plates "cherished marks" go at auction mainly, or are sourced from older vintage type cars that were registered before the current reg system. I.e. like MDP did and the reason i have bought the Gold Merc to simply extract the plate from it.

Kam, just look on the DVLA website they list all the plates going to the next auction, but you have to register I think and it costs £5. L319 D4 HSE

I have been emailing the DVLA re the inclusion of certain numbers that have never been issued. They have contacted me to let me know that 1 particular plate will be entered into the auction being held in JUNE on the dates 27th - 29th. She could'nt confirm where yet.

Yeah i looked on the dvla website for the next auction, as im helping my brother in law look for one, but didn't think you could get any more future info then the next auction.

Good luck with the auction MDP.. How many numbers do you have now? 2 is it so far, do you sell your old ones, or keep them on other cars/certificate? Thinking of disposing of my current KAM plate when i get the new one off the merc, so am looking for the best way of getting rid of it for the best price.

I have 3 plates so far - hope to gain another at this next auction in June & have some feelers out with the dvla re 2 more. Any plate not being used I just keep on retention - simple.

You could always try ebay, sunday times, saturday telegraph, topmarques etc for th sale of any plates you want to sell.

Are they all MDP plates that you have? Does Mrs MDP have the same initials? I've never really got into private plates myself... I had an Irish plate on a previous 5-series once but I don't have a middle initial so it would make any ideal plate for me quite expensive - it would just have to be SH *** or some such.
