Kam,

I wanted to do Brunty in the M5, but was always advised to do track days in your own car when the tyres are nearly shot anyway, and you are due a service soon so that you can have your brake fluid replaced at the same time as you'll knacker it on the track.

Yeah i have been given this same advice.. about track days, ie. tires, brakes are worn heavily on track days... doing a max sprint in the car with no harsh cornering and no harsh braking etc won't be as bad, will only do a couple of max speed runs and probably not get anywhere over 150mph even when i do that!

I was blasting up to a friends in the lakes with two mates around 3.30 am roads absolutley dead, we had not seen a car for miles.
As we came to overtake two trucks a police range rover was sandwhiched between them we passed he put on blue lights and gave chase.
We all slowed down to let him catch up and he let us off for not racing away and making it into a big incident.
Blew my biggest gasp ever and still laugh about it to this day. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey

I V-Maxed my M5 one Bank Holiday Monday morning after dropping the wife off at Birmingham airport, at 5am, there was no -one around. The GPS readout said 162mph.

My curiosity was satisfied, and oddly, have never felt the urge to go much over 100 ever since. I love crusing in the SC at about 80mph. SO smooooooooooth. L319 D4 HSE
