CAM Belt

Out of interest does anyone have any idea what the recommended periods are for changing the CAM belt on a RRS 2006 TDV6.

Is there a time period recommendation as well as mileage ?

Regards

Cam belt changes are at the 70k mark I think... it's usually mileage related rather than time related as it's based on wear.

The cam belt is no big deal but the rear belt is a big problem.

YOU MUST remove the engine or the the body to change the belt.
this will be expensive.

I'm not looking forward to it.. Big Cry

One of the D3 guys had the 105,000m service done recently and the bill (if I remember rightly) wasn't that extortionate, so I presume the dealership he used has managed to find a less labour intensive way of changing the rear belt. I don't think there is any more room at the back of the engine on a D3 either, in fact I can't see how they can get to anything without removing many parts.... ISTR the book time is about 7 hours for the cam belt (engine out) , ,but some dealers have done it in 4 hours removing the body.

Some dealers have had 4 post lifts adapted to take webbing straps to lift the body off!!

What happens in a few years when the body bolts are rusty?
There must be a way to do it in situ without major surgery..

Anyone?
