New or previously enjoyed?

Hi,

I'm very seriously considering a RRS to replace my current car.
I'll be running the car privately, so this is my money I'm spending here not a companies

I've been in a freinds 4.2SC and love the car, but realistically I don't want to be getting only 10-15mpg from our daily driver
I'm not so sure I'd miss the ultimate performance of the sc anyway as I have a couple of other toys I can use when the performance Twisted Evil calls ('88 911 & Triumph ST1050 & Suzui SV1000 Razz )

now the questions I have are:

Do I go for a nearly new TDV8 (MY07/MY08) thus saving a fair amount on depreciation
or go for a new TDV6 (MY10) not sure I can strech to a new V8 Sad

ipod intergration would be nice as would having the ability to listen to different things front / rear
I have a 13 year old daughter who's musical tastes are somewhat different to mine Wink

True offroading isn't a major driver, but am into mountainbiking so the ability to at least park in a field wihtout the worry of getting stuck would be nice, occational towing is always handy but again not essential

I did have a '97 Disco a few years ago and although both my wife and I loved the car it was just too unreliable and a little too much like hard work on the motorway for relaxed cruising (although it did perform magnificently when towing a large trailor to the west coast of Ireland)

I plan on keeping the car for at least 5 years and do about 10 - 12K per annum

I am also considering the Porsche and BMW, but not sure I could live the the hearse looks of the Porsche and find BMW's a little unispiring and frankly I'd like to support the British workers anyway

Looking on here it seems there is a lot of difference between the dealer experience offered.
Is it worthwhile me trolling into London with the Wife to visit Park Royal or just deal with my loal dealer (Guy Salmon Ascot) until I make up my mind on what I want to do

thanks in advance for you wisdom on these matters Bankrupt durch Technik

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

i got a 16 month old TDV8 when I 'took the plunge' to save £25k on depreciation.. I love new cars as much as the next, but more than £2k a month loss from new? no thanks

(situation might be better now, this was Jan 2009)

Just traded up from MY06 to MY10, big difference, ipod integration fabulous, better than having what is equivalent to a drawer of 250 blank CD's (like my toyota ipod connection) Rear screen entertainment brill for the smalls. Also find keyless operation quite handy. purple people eater

Contact all dealers (Especially our sponsors) and see who offers the best deal. If it was me I would go new simply because of the improvements on the 2010MY and get the TDV6 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
