Swirl marks / scratches in clear coat.

After 6 audis in a row, I've finally taken the plunge and bought a 57 plate TDV8 in Java Black. Very pleased with the car overall, and what a great site!!

Thought that the paintwork was in pretty good shape until the sun came out today. In direct sunlight there are lots of fine scratches and swirls visible in the clear laquer coat on the paint. None of the marks are visible in normal daylight, they only stand out when the sun comes out (rare in wales I Know!!).

Anybody got any tips for removing the swirls, or u reckon it's something I've just gotta live with?? hope not coz I suffer with a bit of OCD when it comes to stuff like this!! Confused 57 plate TDV8, Java Black, Factory Tints, Sidesteps,

Mate, when I bought the car I was also very cautious about swirl marks and have spent hours cleaning and polishing the car. But as the time passed I realised that there is no point in wasting time and energy on something that does not last any way Sad , unless you lock the car in your garage and don't drive it off course Laughing

Enjoy the car for what is was build - DRIVING Thumbs Up , which is certainly more fun than polishing Laughing

If you don't fancy machine polishing your car( the one JKP offers is a dual action polisher and only a small chance if damage) you could always look in to hand polishes that are designed for black cars

these have what's refered to as fillers these basically fill the swirls masking them, then applying a long lasting wax will also help.

Of course the correct washing regime will help

contact JKP even if it's just to get his telephone number for advice Thumbs Up

Cheers guys, spent all day yesterday with the "colour wax" out, then put a layer of autoglym high definition wax over it.

Looks much better, and prob won't see the sun again until May. 57 plate TDV8, Java Black, Factory Tints, Sidesteps,

Get a pro to correct your paint - I'm having mine done next weekend - not "cheap" but its worth every penny.

Get a professional detailer to do it, cost £250+ depending in severity, area.

Then look after it. 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

For that sort of money I'd definitely consider getting the "paint corrected", anyone got any recomendations for a professional detailer in the south wales area?? 57 plate TDV8, Java Black, Factory Tints, Sidesteps,
