As Tim hinted, my advice would be the same........... if you can afford it, buy one which is under 3 years old and thus within warranty.

I still think it is a nice car with good milage, with the right checks. Tim ask Jaymann about keeping the milage down. His SL has still only done 10K. |

RRS has a service indicator that works on time/mileage - every 12 months or 15000 miles whichever is first, but the indicator also tells you. At a franchised dealership a service will cost between £350/£450 depending on type of service and consumables needed but if you are looking at a car more than 3 years old there are many Land Rover specialists outside the franchise network who have factory trained staff and all the kit and can service the car at a fraction of the cost as their labour rates are a lot less. Day to day RRS TDv6 2.7 should see 25mpg and on a long run you will get more than 30 if you don't try to be a Golf GTi beater, 4.2S/C is a wallet numbing experience for fuel

Tim i thought the need to use Franchised dealers for servicing was dumped years ago in the EU/Britain. Were the trading laws not changed to allow Land Rover approved/trained companies to carry out even warranty work/servicing irrespective of age ??
