Mate,
We have an online tool at work called 'campus' which has three photoshop courses listed. I'm not sure if they are exportable outside of the defence intranet but I'll give it a crack tomorrow and if successful can email the courses to you. 4wding only starts when you have to get out the cab. Everything before that is just driving on crap roads!

im a great beliver in keep clicking buttons until shuch times as you figure it out, but Photoshop is a difficult one to take that appporch with.

I have a few copies if you a copy of it " evaulation copies i hope u understand" Thumbs Up , not sure if there is a photoshop for dummies but it could be a good place to start. I used a product called Gymp which works on mac and windows OS which is easier to get to grips with and further more its free Mr. Green

http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html is always an interesting place to visit. The guy is bonkers but once you warm to him very informative. His scripts are very handy/time saving too http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html.

The best things to learn from the beginning are using layers, creating masks, vector shapes and working in the correct mode (image/mode - Use RGB most of the time, unless you are doing print work then best to be in CMYK as colours available change slightly. If you open a gif make sure you change the mode to rgb, especially if you`re going to add text helps keep it antialiased.. smooth edges not jaggy...)

Oh yes one more thing! creating beveled and embossed text with a large drop shadow was banned in 1995 ! As was the use of the "comic sans" font!
