Thought I'd start this thread before it becomes an issue to give LR enough time to come up with a solution

Any ideas if LR will produce a plug in DAB module for the current radio before 2015 when FM/AM gets turned off

Also what will happen to the TMC inputs that currently are broadcast on FM to interact with the satnav


Anyone hard wired a Pure Freeway into there RRS, so it doesn't have to be stuck on the window like a tom tom:?:
I don't like window mounts as they attract thieving scum

My freeway is hard wired and fitted in my top glove box, I was lucky since I already had an ipod connection kit fitted in there so I used the USB as a power source and it's AUX as my output.

The ariel is in the top left of my screen and the wire runs down the side of the screen into the glove box.

All nicely out of the way and neat & tidy!

The ipod connector is a LR option and was on the car when I got it, i suspect it was fitted either from new or by the dealers.

I assume the rear aux works but i have never tried it!

I fitted the DAB unit which was really easy, the ipod kit comes with a USB plus two phono lead connecton ports, I simply used the USB for the DAB power source and the phono's for the signal output.

DAB is OK if you live somewhere where you can receive it...................... and the boffins have yet to get it to go over mountains or round hills and come out the other side with satisfactory sound quality so up here there is not a lot of cover outside of the big cities and the suburbs/commuter belt so FM will be here for a while yet 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I have DAB in the FL2

Switching from standard and back to DAB you notice the diference in quality

But even though 99% of the time its fine, occassionally i get no reception, which must be either weather conditions or the signals not broadcasting.

Only desent channels seem to be the BBC ones, the others are boring or have no reception and it doesn't have any local DAB station like Radio Aire, or a local Galaxy station which i can get on normal (even though Galaxy is on the list of DAB station)

Allegedly 2015 and we'll have no choice Tim. TDV6 - gone
